Continue shoppingWhen Lino Manfrotto, an Italian photojournalist, began developing light holders and telescopic stands at the end of the 1960s, he probably had no idea that this would soon become a globally recognized and respected company. In 1972, Lino Manfrotto met Gilberto Battocchio, himself a worker in a metalworking company. In 1974, the company presented its first tripod. From then on, things went uphill and Manfrotto was able to put 11 production facilities into operation a short time later. In 1989, Manfrotto was taken over by the British Vitec Group, and the company is now based in Cassola, Italy. Today, Manfrotto continues to sell accessories for photographers and the film industry worldwide.
