Cabin baggage

Cabin luggage, also known as cabin baggage or hand luggage, is flexible, spacious and suitable for both business trips and weekend getaways, as it does not require time-consuming check-in.

A carry-on suitcase should not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm. These dimensions have been defined by the IATA and include wheels, handles, side pockets, etc. The total width, length and height should not exceed 115 cm.

With these strict regulations, you should also ensure that your cabin baggage weighs as little as possible. Depending on the model, a cabin trolley weighs around 3 kg. So if you are traveling exclusively with cabin baggage, you can also switch to cabin-sized travel bags or a backpack to save weight. As these do not have wheels or a frame, they are usually much lighter than a carry-on suitcase. Both also have numerous inner and outer compartments for even more storage space.

Garment bags are a practical alternative to the classic trolley, especially if you are traveling on business. Some airlines have different maximum sizes for these and they also ensure crease-free transportation of your clothes and, depending on the model, also have zipped compartments for documents and other items.
