When Josef Friedrich gained his first experience in his uncle's small leather goods shop in Nuremberg in 1925, he did not yet know that he would soon be running a company rich in tradition. In 1949, he took over the business and moved into new premises in Nuremberg Eibach with five home workers and three representatives. In the 1950s, the first major customers from all over the world allowed the company to flourish, and shops outside the traditional leather goods sector also began to discover Friedrich's products for themselves.

In 1987, Friedrich Lederwaren moved into new premises in Schwanstetten. A few years earlier, Ingo Friedrich, a trained portfolio maker, began producing wallets, key rings and folders on his own. In 1988, Friedrich Lederwaren began developing and producing its first jewelry box collections. The product range is now growing steadily and major and industrial customers are becoming increasingly aware of the Friedrich creative workshop. In 2005, Markus Friedrich joined Friedrich Lederwaren as managing director and continued the long family tradition.

With the introduction of F|23 and Friedrich|23 in 2006, the company's product portfolio grew to include two more very strong brands. In 2013, Friedrich Lederwaren GmbH celebrated its 30th anniversary and can look back on a series of innovations and international awards.

F|23 Travel, with its beautiful and colorful motifs, is aimed at all travelers who want to travel with photorealistic suitcases and trolleys, while F|23 Urban Survival 2 serves fans of soft luggage and is very well positioned with a weekender, rolling travel bag, backpack and toiletry bag.
