Boss - Noble design since 1924

BOSS was founded in 1924 by Hugo Ferdinand Boss (1885-1948) and began its unprecedented success story with workwear in Metzingen. When Hugo Ferdinand Boss died shortly after the end of the war in 1948, his son-in-law Eugen Holy took over the company management and BOSS began to produce men's suits.

Uwe and Jochen Holy, Eugen Holy's sons, took over the company in 1967 and shortly afterwards (1975) hired the Austrian designer Werner Baldessarini, who later rose to become head designer. Boss' factory outlet in Metzingen began in the 1970s, which later became Outletcity Metzingen. On December 19, 1985, almost 60 years after it was founded by Hugo Ferdinand Boss, the company went public with preferred shares.

From workwear to international fashion group

In less than 100 years, BOSS has grown from a small family business into a multi-billion dollar corporation and has maintained the main collection, as well as the Hugo brands (both for men and women) and the children's collections since November 2016.
